Tacos and Beer at Dogtown Brewing in RVA!
Richmond VA’s newest craft brewery held a Tacos and Beer Fest last Saturday, one week ahead of their official Grand Opening.
The tasting room is amazing. Bright, open, lot’s of seating, an incredible rooftop beer garden with a great view of Richmond and the Manchester district, and most importantly an excellent selection of handcrafted beers on tap.
Dogtown was packed. In addition to every seat in the place being occupied, and the bar at capacity, there was a line that had to have had 15 to 20 people waiting to get beers from the bar. I felt a little sorry for the employees as they were clearly a little overwhelmed, and sometimes appeared a little frantic in their efforts to make sure everyone was taken care of. But to their credit, without exception they did the very best job possible to make sure everyone in attendance felt appreciated and cared for. Obviously customer service was very important to them.
In addition to a few tacos, I sampled the Standard Pale Ale, and Kolsch, and found them to be excellent. They also had an oyster bar, and were serving up lots of oysters on the half shell. I didn’t have any, and I sincerely regret not ordering some.
Their official grand opening is set for this Saturday, July 27, at 11am.
