Finally! After a long and arduous wait, 2021 has given us our first craft beer festival in what seems like a such a long time!  Fredericksburg VA’s, Frosty Brew Thru was held last Saturday, Jan 30, and we could not have been happier!

First, we must give a shout out the event sponsors for making this event possible.

Community Outreach – Fredericksburg, VA, Fredericksburg Agricultural Fairgrounds, and Safford of Fredericksburg, we would like to offer you our heartfelt gratitude for helping to bring a little bit of normality back into our live. Thank you, and thank you again.

Now about Frosty Brew Thru.

The event was divided into two sessions- 11am to 2pm, and 3pm to 6pm. There were 6 breweries in attendance (Barley Naked Brewing Company, 6 Bears and a Goat, 1781 Brewing Company, Maltese Brewing Company, Highmark Brewery, and Colonial Beach Brewing),  3 wineries were present (Castle Glen Winery, ONEHOPE Wine, and Mattaponi Winery),  2 distilleries (KO Distillery, and Chesapeake Bay Distillery), and one cidery (Cobbler Mountain Cider).

Each was serving up some of the very best their brewery/distillery/winery/cidery had to offer, and several were selling cans and bottles to take home and enjoy later!

And if you got hungry while you were sampling your favorite beverages, there were also two food trucks there serving up some pretty amazing grub (Sparky’s BBQ, and  Fire Escape Food Truck).  I couldn’t resist and got cheese fries covered in smoky pulled pork bbq from Sparky’s BBQ, and they paired perfectly with the Cream Ale from Barley Naked, and a Black IPA from 6 Bears and a Goat Brewing

There were also a number of vendors there, offering some unique products, such as Lisa’s Cornhole Bags and Boards, Jerky Hut, and Passanante’s Home Food Service (offering free home delivery of organic meats, vegetables, and other grocery items).

One of the vendors that especially caught my attention was Unique Knitting. They had quite a variety of knitted hats and scarves that not only looked great, but were incredibly soft.

If you happened to make it to Frosty Brew Thru in Fredericksburg, I know you had a great time. There’s nothing like good food, great beer, and spending a little time with a hundred of your closest friends you didn’t know you had.

Cheers!
