Starr Hill Brewery is coming to Richmond, VA!

Starr Hill Brewery, known for more than 20 years for brewing great hand crafted beer, will be opening their new Beer Hall & Rooftop Beer Garden this summer in Richmond’s Scott Addition neighborhood.

This new brewery will be dedicated to producing wild ales and experimentation with different beer styles, such as juicy brews, hazy IPAs, fruited brett sours, rich stouts and  more. It will also feature a 1,000 square foot deck, an all-season 3,000-square-foot rooftop bar and beer garden with view of the Richmond skyline.

Starr Hill also expects to host a number of events at this facility through out the year such as live music, beer dinners in collaboration with local restaurants, educational sessions with brewers, and even rooftop yoga sessions.

The brewery will not have a kitchen, but will host a number of the area’s finest food trucks, and also hopes to work out an arrangement with restaurant Tazza Kitchen, located in the same building, to provide food.

The brewery will be operating on a 10-barrel steam-fire system with four 10-barrel fermenters and five 10-barrel wooden fermentation vessels called foeders made from American oak. Using wooden vessels allows the fermenting beer to move in and out of the oak, imparting flavor and characteristics that can’t be achieved any other way. Starr Hill expects this system will allow the brewery to maintain a rotating variety of over 20 different styles of beer on tap.

Are you excited? I am. This summer, 3406 West Leigh Street could become the hottest place to be in Richmond!
